What can you say about Danger Jones? The epic buzz surrounding this newly formed Los Angeles based brand is unprecedented. For their exciting debut show at Hair Festival, Danger Jones is rolling into Sydney with some of the best artists from both their American team and their Australian team. Together they’ll put on a dynamic, well-rounded showcase designed to level up your skills in creative coloring, blonding & toning, hair cutting, and styling. While inspiring creativity is their mission, the lessons learned at this education event will be ones that you can use every day behind the chair.

In collaboration with Danger Jones, each artist will be using the extensive range of colouring tools from Colortrak.

In this session, you will learn how to…

Level up your skills in creative coloring, blonding & toning, hair cutting, and styling. While inspiring creativity is their mission, the lessons learned at this education event will be ones that you can use every day behind the chair.

Meet Your Educators

Alexis Thurston | @alexisthurston

Alexis Thurston is the co-founder of Danger Jones and is responsible for formulating all their products. She is based in Los Angeles, but travels across the world educating and building her brand, which is already distributed in 23 countries. Alexis is also the co-owner of Butterfly Loft Salon, the place where all Danger Jones products are created and tested. She’s also an outspoken advocate for equal opportunities for women in the beauty industry. Few people have so many titles in our industry as Alexis does… she’s a stylist, a salon owner, an educator, a product creator, an entrepreneur, and a beauty industry disrupter.

Mary Ott | @maryh.ott 

From Allentown, Pennsylvania, Mary Ott has curated her extensive career with extraordinary passion. With over 19 years in the industry, Mary’s intuitive nature and creative expression inspires artists around the world. Mary is a stylist, salon owner, a mother and known in the beauty industry for her well-rounded skills in creative color, dimensional balayage, and universal blending. Mary is a global educator and platform artist for Danger Jones.

Jessica Powers | @jessicapowerspaints

Jessica Powers hails from Ogden Utah but is admired by stylists across the world due to her talent, her photography skills, and her social media prowess. She’s got versatile skills, equally known for her vivid color work, blonding and balayage work, and her finishing and styling. Jessica is a stylist, a salon owner, a mother, a two-time winner for the BTC Creative Color One Shot Awards, and a global educator and platform artist for Danger Jones.

Holly Sharpe | @hollysharpe.hair

From Brisbane Australia, Holly Sharpe is a salon owner and true enthusiast in the realm of artistic hairdressing. With a fierce passion for her craft, Holly has represented international brands, showcasing her knowledge and creative colouring skills on stage internationally and nationally, educating Australia wide and has internationally published collections. Holly is thrilled to be on a creative journey as a global educator and platform artist with Danger Jones.

Kate McFarlane | @katelsmac

Residing in Central Queensland, Kate is a passionate and experienced hairdresser with 21 years in the industry. As a salon owner, expert stylist, and devoted mother, Kate is well known for her vibrant transformations but has a huge passion for everything blonde. Most salon days are spent doing balayages, lived-in blondes, and teasy light transformations. As a global educator and platform artist with Danger Jones, she is excited to share her expertise at this years hair festival and showcase what Danger Jones has to offer our industry.

Lexie Shay | @thelexieshay

Lexie Shay started her career 20 years ago and has traveled across the globe sharing her passion and knowledge for all things hair, inclusivity, and self-love!  Known for her alternative coloring, cutting and styling work, Lexie has earned features in various international beauty publications, secured finalist positions in competitions, and garnered admiration from hair stylists worldwide. Since her return to Cairns, AUS, Lexie has opened her own salon with the goal to share education, help nourish the creative mindset in the north and create a safe space for all. Lexie is thrilled to be on a creative journey as a global educator and platform artist with Danger Jones.
